Falla de Ramón: análisis de las noticias aparecidas en la prensa

Abstract

In the beginning of this year there were many news articles concerning the San Ramon Fault or Ramon Fault (Börgel, El Mercurio, March 18, 2002). In these articles there are contradictions and omissions that may result in confusion or panic in an economic, social and/or psychological sense. This is why the Sociedad Chilena de Ciencias Geográficas (Chilean Society of Geographic Science) through the professor F. Ferrando A. Director of the Geography School, F.A.U. , of the University of Chile, advices the discussion and clarification of some matters concerning the San Ramon Fault and also take new information on account.
