Abstract

In this article, the magnitude of wage discrimination between men and women in Chile was measured, using data from the CASEN 2015 survey and the Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition. Selection bias was corrected for both groups, and real experience variable was used instead of the potential experience in the traditional Mincer model. Results obtained were a non-significant wage gap between men and women, and an effect of unobservable characteristics, also known as discrimination, of 11% in the wage gap.
